A PLATFORM FOR PARLIAMENTARIANS AND POLICY MAKERS TO UNDERSTAND THE FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR

- ABOUT US -

The Future Financial Forum offers a platform for financial services institutions large and small to share their views, their problems, and their solutions with Parliamentarians, policymakers and their advisers in Westminster, Whitehall and beyond.

Economic Importance

The financial services sector makes up almost 10% of the UK economy. It is a hugely complex and highly regulated sector comprising everything from global international banks and fintechs to regional building societies and local credit unions.

Knowledge and Experience

Much of the policy and regulation that underpins the financial services sector is made in Parliament. Yet the majority of Parliamentarians have a limited knowledge of how the financial services sector actually works, how it is evolving, and how it is regulated. Even fewer have first-hand experience of working in the sector.

Policy Platform

We provide a platform for parliamentarians and policymakers to understand the financial services sector and what they can do to make policy and regulation work better for the industry, for consumers, and for the country as a whole.

Events and Information

The Future Financial Forum offers Parliamentarians and industry members regular events to foster greater mutual understanding and to discuss key issues. We are a repository of information and briefing notes for Parliamentarians and their staff to use when engaging in financial services issues.

A Voice in the Room

We are a conduit that allows our members to ensure that their voice and their viewpoints are being heard and understood by those Parliamentarians who have the power to shape the future of the British financial services sector.

All Party Group

As the Secretariat of the APPG for Future Financial Services, the Future Financial Forum is at the beating heart of financial services policy development in Westminster.

- WHAT DO WE DO? -

The financial services sector in the UK is in a period of flux thanks to a number of different circumstances largely beyond the sector’s control including:

All political parties are committed to creating an economic and regulatory environment where the City of London and the UK financial services sector can thrive but few have a clear understanding and vision of how to achieve that.

That is where the Future Financial Forum comes in …

Neither a trade association or an interest group, we are a resource repository providing easy-to-understand information for parliamentarians and policymakers and a platform for them to engage with industry to discuss the key issues of the day and learn how best to help shape the financial services sector of tomorrow.

POLICY EVENTS

Policy Events – Regular policy discussion events in and around Westminster both through the auspices of the Future Financial Services APPG and more informal gatherings and debates.

RECEPTIONS

Receptions and social events offering an opportunity for industry to get to know parliamentarians and policymakers.

INFORMATION & RESOURCES

Providing a repository of information on key issues for Parliamentarians, policymakers, and advisors to use.

REGULAR BRIEFINGS
