APPG for the Future Of Financial Services formally relaunched

The APPG for the Future of Financial Services held its inaugural general meeting yesterday in Westminster to reconstitute the group following the General Election.

The APPG, which was previously known as the APPG for Challenger Banks and Building Societies, will be chaired by Dame Harriett Baldwin MP, the former Chair of the Treasury Select Committee, and Liberal Democrat Peer Lord Sharkey.

The other officers of the APPG are Josh Dean MP from Labour and Conservative MP Lewis Cocking. The Future Financial Forum was also appointed as the Secretariat of the APPG.

The APPG also confirmed that its first inquiry would be to look at the issue of Access to Banking with a focus on branch closures, banking hubs, and the impact on both consumers and SMEs in particular.

Further details and a full terms of reference will be published soon on the APPG page of this website at https://futurefinancialforum.org/appg/
